Workshop Endorsements
When I first heard about Charitable Treasures Workshop, I excitedly knew it was something that this community and the clients I served clearly and appropriately needed as there were no work or day programs for individuals with special needs. This program is unique in that it gives the apprentices good hourly pay, quality vocational training and one on one supervision and mentoring. It quite frankly, is a remarkable program.
Clients on my caseload who have participated in the program have gained valuable work, social and vocational skills that will help them become more independent and self-sufficient as they transition into adulthood. They are becoming respected members of the community as the community becomes involved with this program and observes what these individuals have to offer.
I am proud to have this organization and vocational workshop in our community and view it as an example for other communities to emulate. I anticipate much more success for individuals as they participate in this program and am looking forward to what the future holds.

The Resource Exchange (Teller & Park Counties)
As a special education teacher, I am engaged in a constant endeavor to find appropriate, meaningful vocational experiences for my students. It’s always a challenge, here in Colorado Springs, but in Teller County the opportunities are even more limited. Our rural schools face an uphill battle to provide paid vocational experiences for their students with disabilities in that important 18-21 year old range. The transition from school to the world of adulthood and work is not only personally important for families and young people with disabilities but is also required by federal law. This is why Charitable Treasures Workshop is truly a treasure for our community. We residents of Teller County want our young people to be as independent as possible and to join us as productive citizens. Our businesses need dependable and capable employees. Training for strength and independence is a must and our schools can’t do it all alone. Please support us in this effort to serve our young people, our businesses, our schools, and our neighbors.
